Updated: 6:42am – The Vodafone Premier League has been postponed till the 3rd of next month.

The Fiji Football Association says this was done after requests by majority of districts as according to them they are facing difficulties in putting a team together as the transfer window has opened.

According to some district association Presidents, the transfer window has seen a lot of players joining new clubs which has led them with no choice but to train with a handful of players.

Fiji FA’s CEO Mohammed Yusuf says Rewa has requested for the postponement of the matches this weekend as they have a massive movement of players and they will not be able to put together a decent team.

Meanwhile, seven Ba soccer team players are under the spotlight after reports that they were under the influence of alcohol during the Vodafone Premier League match against Nadi last Sunday.

The news can establish that some of the players that played under the influence of alcohol are also National team players.

The Ba Soccer Association is now investigating as to who supplied the players with drinks on the eve of the game.

The Ba soccer team has also filed a protest against Nadi.

Ba lost the match 3-1 last Sunday.

Fiji FA says the protest has to do with the timing of registration of Nadi soccer players for this match.

Rewa has requested for the postponement of the matches this weekend.
