Upset, Sunita returned home to her parental house in Candolim village. But her behavior had turned ‘abnormal’ and she was confined to one-room shack in the backyard of her parents’ house.
Sunita was sent food through a window in the hut. After she was rescued, she was sent to treatment in the hospital.
The NGO ‘Bailancho Saad’, who had informed the police about her condition had received a mail about the sad state of the woman. Sunita Verlekar was found with no clothes on her body, when the police broke open her shack.
