An elderly Dutch woman who has always dreamed of getting arrested has finally crossed out that wish from her bucket list.
Police in the Netherlands sent Annie, 99, to prison in Nijmegen Zuid, after her niece went into the station to report a crime.
Photos posted by officers on the Nijmegen Zuid police force’s Facebook page showed a grinning Annie escorted to jail in handcuffs.
She was also pictured sitting in a jail cell with glee. Lieutenant Peter Smit told The Independent: “She wanted to be in a police cell because of her bucket list.
“In her life she never committed any crime, and thought it would be exciting to experience. As you can see in the picture from our post, she found it hilarious to be in the inside with the handcuffs.
It wasn’t clear why Annie had this unusual item on her bucket list, but police said they were happy to oblige.
“We don’t usually do this, but we made an exception.
“It was just a couple of minutes in the cell. It was all about the experience.”
