Are you sick of being told by a Swedish teenager how to live your life?

Billed as a being for “adults angry at a child”, a satirical video advertising the so-called helpline comes as the world’s eyes are focused on the issue of climate change. “If you’re a grown adult who needs to yell at a child for some reason, the Greta Thunberg Helpline is here to tolerate you,” the infomercial-style video says.

Set up by Australian satirist Mark Humphries, the video takes a tongue-in-cheek approach to some of the more extreme reactions climate activist Greta Thunberg has caused around the globe.

“She’s just fuelling needless anxiety,” one “caller” complains in the video. “She’s making the end of the world sound like it’s the end of the world.” The video’s narrator implores viewers to call the helpline before expressing their anger in public.

“Before you go full CAPS LOCK in an article comment section, let our expert counsellors assess your situation. “We’ll listen, no matter how ridiculous you sound.”

The video has been viewed more than 7 million times on Twitter, even earning a retweet from the famous young Swede herself. “Hang in there! Help is available,” she commented in a tweet sharing the video. Earlier this week, Thunberg gave an impassioned speech at the UN, telling world leaders “you have stolen my dreams and my childhood with your empty words”.

“How dare you.”

The narrator alluded to the speech in the video, saying: “It’s okay, we understand that children acting like adults, can make adults act like children.” The video ends with the sage advice. “Because when it comes to climate change, we all know she’s the real problem.”
