Tottenham made it seven top‑flight wins in succession for the first time since 1967 and continued their pursuit of leaders Chelsea with a dominant 4-nil victory over Bournemouth.

Tottenham is still second on the English Premier League points table but now with 71 points.

Chelsea leads with 75 points and will play Manchester United at 3am tomorrow.

In other matches, Manchester City beat Southampton 3-nil, Crystal Palace and Leicester City were locked at 2-all, Everton beat Burnley 3-1, Stoke City beat Hull City 3-1, Sunderland and West Ham were locked at 2-all while, Watford beat Swansea 1-nil.

Meanwhile, Real Madrid came from behind twice to beat Sporting Gijon 3-2 and remain in control of the Spanish La Liga title race.

In another La Liga match, Lionel Messi scored twice as Barcelona defeated Real Sociedad 3-2.

And in Italy, Juventus moved closer to a sixth straight Italian title as they beat Pescara 2-nil to go eight points clear.

Gonzalo Higuain scored twice in the first half, taking him to 23 Serie A goals this season.
