Two men were apprehended in Auckland's Manurewa area, allegedly possessing a gun, drugs, and cash

Police in south Auckland has arrested two men for allegedly possessing a gun, ammunition, cash, methamphetamine, and cannabis.

The men were stopped by armed police in Manurewa after a reported sighting of a man with a gun around 5.30 pm yesterday.

The 19-year-old man was charged with two counts of unlawfully possessing a firearm, threatening to kill, burglary, possessing cannabis, and possessing methamphetamine for supply.

The 24-year-old man was charged with threatening to kill, burglary, possessing cannabis, and possessing methamphetamine for supply.

Both men are scheduled to appear in Manukau District Court today.

Police Chief Inspector Adam Pyne thanked staff involved and urged community members to continue reporting incidents.
