Magic player Ali Wilshier will miss the rest of the ANZ Premiership netball season due to a serious knee injury.

Wilshier suffered a partial MCL tear and cartilage injury in the round eight match against the Stars in Auckland. Mila Reuelu-Buchanan, a Silver Ferns and Stars midcourter, also suffered an ACL injury.

Magic coach Mary-Jane Araroa announced that Wilshier would undergo surgery before continuing her rehabilitation under the Magic medical team. The Magic, currently fourth on the ladder, will focus on getting Wilshier ready for the 2025 Premiership.

Wilshier, who played in the UK Super League last year, had limited court time due to injury. Other players, including Silver Ferns shooter Grace Nweke, Amelia Walmsley, and Maddy Gordon, have also been ruled out of the season due to injury.
