The Flying Fijians will kick off the Pacific Nations Cup against Manu Samoa this Friday at 6 p.m. at the HFC Stadium in Suva.
Captain Tevita Ikanivere is confident in the team’s readiness to face the physicality of Manu Samoa.
The team is focused on training and developing strategies to defend the title they claimed last year. Ikanivere expressed gratitude for the support from teammates and management.
Especially from players who have experience in World Cup tournaments.
Samoa had to cancel their Northern Hemisphere tour due to financial issues and the termination of national 7s coach Brian Lima’s contract.
Flying Fijians coach Mick Byrne believes these off-the-field challenges can ignite a fighting spirit.
He emphasizes that the players need to be fully prepared for the upcoming game.
