Local government representative Kabelo Gwamanda emphasized the importance of safety in the city.

He stated that the 2500 homicides that occur in Johannesburg every year are double the total homicides in New Zealand this century.

Park chief executive George Stainton emphasized the stadium’s special place and the seamless transport system. Stainaton has Ensured that fans can reach the stadium within 100 meters of the entrance.

Around 100 All-Black fans have travelled to the city for the test match this weekend. Fans will be staying in the relatively safe Sandton area north of the city.

Many of them find it difficult to pay for goods in cash. They want to avoid carrying rand notes around for fear of being robbed.

Stainton hopes the 62,000 fans who descend on Ellis Park for the test will arrive early. Especially the All Black fans who will experience the challenges of paying for goods in cash.
