Chairman Harry Attison recently highlighted the significance of the Australia U23 team’s visit to Vanuatu. Which emphasizes the significant influence it has on the local football scene.

He stressed the boost for local sports and the opportunity for fans to experience high-quality football.

Coach Juliano Schmeling confirmed that Brian Kaltak would remain the Vanuatu Captain. Schmeling also shared that Kaltak has assured him of his availability for the Port Vila October World Cup Qualifying tournament.

As we are aware his Central Coast Mariners are preparations for the Asian Championships in China.

Vanuatu has been grouped with New Zealand, Tahiti, and the winners of the play-offs between American Samoa, Cook Islands, Samoa, and Tonga.

Johnathan Spokey Jack will captain the team when they face the Australian U-23 team next week in Port Vila.

Schmeling emphasized that Jack embodies the leadership qualities he aims to cultivate among the national senior players. Juliano praised him for being responsible, dedicated, and an effective communicator.

He expressed similar sentiments about vice-captain Jacky Ruben. Ruben led the Vanuatu team to a gold medal at the 2017 Pacific Mini Games.
