In the 2024 Battle of the Giants tournament, Lautoka made an impressive comeback after a slow start, securing a spot in today’s final against Nadi. This comeback has added an exciting and intense dimension to the tournament.
Lautoka defeated Rewa 5-3 in the first semifinal. Club President Shalendra Prasad praised the coaching staff for their excellent game plan. Despite losing to Nadi in their first pool match, the teams are now set for a thrilling rematch.
Nadi’s Coach, Raj Dayal, emphasized the importance of staying focused as they prepare for the final against Lautoka.
Lautoka took an early lead, scoring four goals in the first half, including two from Saula Waqa and two from Sairusi Nalaubu, setting the tone for their dominant performance.
Despite Nadi’s 2-0 semifinal win against Suva, Dayal kept his players grounded, stressing that the job was not yet done.
Nadi will face Lautoka at 3 pm at the HFC Stadium in Suva today.
