Lautoka has secured a spot in the Battle of the Giants competition after defeating Navua 1-0 in their last pool game.
Lautoka started the match with a few goal attempts, but Navua’s goalie, Jovilisi Borisi, made several impressive saves.
Navua continued to match Lautoka’s physicality until halftime. Five minutes into the second half, Lautoka’s Saula Waqa scored, and Lautoka went into defense mode after scoring.
Despite Navua’s efforts to find a gap, Lautoka’s defense held them off until the final whistle, sending them to the semifinals. Sitiveni Cavuilagi received a red card for dangerous play.
The semifinals and finals will be played next weekend at the HFC Stadium in Suva.
