Labasa and Navua finished with a 2-2 draw in the final match of day one of the Battle of the Giants 2024.
Christopher Wasasala scored a penalty for Labasa in the 30th minute after Fordney Junior was fouled inside the penalty box. Wasasala struck again in the 53rd minute, giving Labasa a 2-0 lead.
Thomas Dunn scored in the 55th minute and added another goal in the 75th minute. Navua rallied in the second half to level the game with Dunn’s brace.
Labasa’s coach, Ravnil Pratap, stated that today’s match against Lautoka will be a do-or-die match, as a loss would mean they are out of the tournament.
Lautoka’s match is equally important after their 2-1 loss to Nadi. Nadi will take on Navua at 1 p.m., while Rewa will face Nadroga at 3 p.m., and Ba will play host Suva at 7 p.m.
