Ben Gollings, the former Fiji Airways Men’s 7s coach, recently stated that the Fiji Rugby Union’s termination of him was unjustified and poorly handled. He says the four warnings he received were unjustified and poorly delivered.
Gollings is adamant that his dismissal was not solely a result of his performance. He points to the significant impact of external interference, which he believes hindered his ability to carry out his duties effectively.
Gollings goes a step further, alleging that the Fijian media was not just biased but also influenced to favor the Fiji Rugby Union in their reporting, raising questions about the integrity of the media’s role in the controversy.
He was let go on March 8th after not achieving a win in a World Sevens Series tournament in 19 attempts and was immediately replaced by Osea Kolinisau.
