Fiji 7s coach Osea Kolinisau is facing a difficult decision as he informs five players that they will not be attending the Olympic Games in Paris.
Kolinisau, who has mentally prepared for this, aims to remove emotions from the situation.
He believes it is one of the toughest jobs to do as a coach, but if permitted, he would have taken 20 players to France.
Kolinisau, who has experienced the feeling of being dropped or not making the team, explains that knowing they have given their best creates a hole in someone’s heart.
Of 15 players, 13 will attend the Games Village on July 18, and two will be in Paris as injury replacements. The national team will leave for France on Monday.
