The Olympic rugby sevens pools for the Paris Olympics have been announced. Men’s 7s champions Fiji will face competition from hosts France, the USA, and debutants Uruguay.

Argentina, Australia, Samoa, and Kenya will compete for the top spot in Pool B, each team bringing its unique strengths to the competition.

Pool A features top-seed New Zealand alongside Ireland, Japan, and South Africa, who just qualified from the World Rugby Sevens Repechage in Monaco.

Meanwhile, New Zealand, a formidable force in the women’s 7s competition, will face Fijiana, Canada, and newly qualified China, making for an exciting and unpredictable tournament.

In another pool, Australia, Ireland, Great Britain, and debutants South Africa will compete in Pool B. France, as one of the top-ranked teams, will aim to improve on their silver medal from Tokyo 2020 with pool matches against the USA, Japan, and Brazil in Pool C.

The men’s competition will occur from 25 to 28 July, and the women’s tournament will follow from 29 to 31 July.

Rugby Sevens will kick off the Olympic Games in Paris, with the men’s gold medal match on 28 July awarding the first team sport gold medal of the Games.
