The Fiji Rugby Union’s senior operations manager and tournament director, Jikoibau Matawalu, has confirmed that the first round of review of the provincial competition format for next year has been completed.
All team and union representatives and coaches with concerns about the format were in attendance. Following the review, they agreed on the format and calendar for 2025.
Rugby fans can look forward to good weather and action-packed Skipper Cup semi-final games at Ratu Cakobau Park on Saturday. The top four teams in the provincial competition will be vying for a spot in the grand final next week, with the Nadroga and Naitasiri rematch as the game to watch. Suva will seek revenge against Nadi for their previous loss.
The Under-20s games will also take place, featuring Suva against Naitasiri and Nadroga against Nadi. Admission is $15, and the U20 games may be moved to Ratu Cakobau’s ground two if the weather is unfavorable.
