Corey Flynn, a 15-Test All Blacks hooker, will serve as the Throwing Coach for the All Blacks during the 2024 Test season in New Zealand. This will be his first involvement in the All Blacks setup since his final Test in 2011.

A prolific points scorer, David Hill will continue as the Kicking Coach for the next two years. Flynn has been part of the coaching and management group since 2019 and has kept tabs on the All Blacks kickers part-time since 2017.

Flynn’s appointment follows his work with New Zealand Rugby (NZR) to aid New Zealand’s Super Rugby clubs in 2023. All Blacks assistant coach Jason Ryan expressed that Flynn’s role will be a significant addition due to his excellent work in the Super Rugby environments over the past two seasons. Flynn’s expertise and attention to detail have been evident in the quality and consistency of the throwing from the hookers he has worked with.

Hill, a first-five eighth who scored over 1500 first-class points while playing with Waikato and the Chiefs and represented the All Blacks three times, has established a strong coaching career following his playing days.

He is an assistant coach at the Chiefs and has been involved with the New Zealand Under 20s, the Blues in Super Rugby, and the Bay of Plenty in the Bunnings Warehouse NPC.

Flynn’s return to the All Blacks environment brings back memories of his playing career and his role as a specialist throwing resource.
