New Zealand Squad for FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023

Ten Football Ferns players will make their Olympic debut in Paris later this month.

However, the squad is missing some familiar faces, such as Striker Hannah Wilkinson, midfielder Annalie Longo, and Betsy Hassett, who are not included in the 18-player squad.

Michael Mayne will coach the team after Jitka Klimková stepped down last month. The selection process has led to the 18 players who are believed to be able to achieve the desired outcomes and are prepared for the challenges they will face.

New Zealand has a record of six wins, two defeats, and one draw in 2024, scoring 37 goals and conceding eight. They have been drawn in Group A for Paris 2024 alongside reigning champions Canada, Colombia, and hosts France.

The team will kick off the tournament against Canada on 26 July in Saint-Etienne, followed by Colombia on 29 July and France on 1 August in Lyon.

The team will warm up for the tournament with an international friendly against Zambia on 14 July at Stade Louis Darragon, Vichy, France.
