The Pulse secured second place in the ANZ Premiership after a 46-43 victory over the Stars. The team, led by Kelly Jackson and Parris Mason, maintained composure until the last minute, securing their place in the grand final.

Tiana Metuarau, with her goal attack in the second half, was a game-changer for the Pulse. Her performance added momentum to the home side’s offense, helping them overcome a strong Stars unit at Te Rauparaha Arena and secure a three-goal victory.

Metuarau’s confidence was boosted by her connections with Whitney Souness and Claire Kersten in the Pulse midcourt. Stars defenders Kate Burley and Holly Fowler disrupted the Pulse frontline, resulting in an evenly balanced match, with the home side leading 22-19.

Stars midcourter Emma Thompson’s connection with Stars shooter Maia Wilson was excellent, but the visitors struggled to capitalize on key scoring opportunities.

Pulse skipper Kelly Jackson, reflecting on the team’s recent loss to the Tactix, expressed relief after the hard-fought match. The Tactix, currently leading the standings with 30 points, are closely followed by the Pulse, who are two points behind in second place.
