Tactix coach Marianne Delaney-Hoshek has announced that she will be stepping down after seven years as head coach at the end of the ANZ Premiership netball season. Delaney-Hoshek has had a successful career, notably guiding the team through their most successful regular season ever.

She expressed that she is ready to retire after her 13-season career, which included roles as an assistant coach at Pulse and Tactix, before becoming head coach in 2017. Delaney-Hoshek looks forward to spending more time with her family and the league’s form team.

With four rounds left before the finals, the Christchurch-based side aims to secure an elusive home grand final. Delaney-Hoshek said the announcement allows the team to address the situation and start recruitment as soon as possible.

The Tactix have made three finals series in the seven years she has been head coach, including reaching grand finals in 2020 and 2021, and are on track to have a spot in the playoffs again this year.

Delaney-Hoshek’s focus is on the remainder of the Tactix’ league campaign, as they are currently leading the Premiership ladder.

Tactix General Manager Kate Agnew acknowledged Delaney-Hoshek’s contributions, stating that she has put her heart and soul into the team and club, often under challenging and unforgiving circumstances. Agnew also confirmed that the Tactix will begin the recruitment process for a new head coach immediately.
