Sam Whitelock, a former All Blacks captain and double Rugby World Cup winner, is set to return to international rugby for the Barbarians against the Fiji Water Flying Fijians next Sunday in Twickenham.
Whitelock announced his professional retirement in April and played his final game for Pau, scoring a try. He will extend his career by two weeks and team up with fellow Crusaders legend Robbie Deans.
This will be Whitelock’s first time running out for the BaaBaas, and he is excited about the opportunity to represent the Barbarians. Whitelock acknowledges the honor of being invited to play for the Barbarians and is grateful for the opportunity.
The Barbarians will take on the Flying Fijians at 2 a.m. next Sunday.
