Fehi Fineanganofo and Ngarohi McGarvey-Black also contributed to the scoring. The All Blacks Sevens then faced South Africa 17-5, and they won the match 17-5.

Their final group match is against Ireland at Stade de France on Friday morning NZ time.

Coach Tomasi Cama was impressed with the All Blacks Sevens’ first-up effort against Japan but acknowledged the tough match against South Africa due to New Zealand suffering injuries.

The All Blacks Sevens want to improve their performance in Paris after winning silver in Tokyo in 2021.
