Fiji won the group stage of the OFC Men’s Nations Cup 2024, earning a spot in the semi-finals in Vanuatu next week.
Roy Krishna’s penalty was the deciding factor in Rob Sherman’s team’s win. On Thursday, Fiji will take on Vanuatu in the highly anticipated semi-final in Port Vila.

Meanwhile, on the same day, Tahiti will face defending champions and favorites New Zealand in a match that will surely be a nail-biter.

During the opening period, Tahiti had the upper hand, with captain Teaonui Tehau playing a crucial role. However, Tahitis goalkeeper Teave Teamotuaitau conceded a penalty, allowing Krishna to score and break the deadlock.
Tahiti worked diligently to find a way to equalize, with Tehau once again playing a key role. This match was a testament to these players’ skills.
Fiji came close to scoring a crucial second goal, but Teamotuaitau scrambled back and cleared the ball off the line.
Fiji’s victory ensures they top Group B and will face co-hosts Vanuatu in Port Vila on Thursday. Tahiti will aim to bounce back ahead of their semi-final against New Zealand on the same day.
