New Zealand continued to dominate, with Codey Phoenix scoring a great half-volley and delivering a high curling corner that pleased the small Kiwi crowd.

Samoa struggled to gain momentum in the wet weather, but Fergus Gillion scored a goal in the corner after a fantastic run and assist from Lachlan Candy.

The second half had limited action, but the game came to life around the 60th minute with Nathan Walker’s shot and Lewis Partridge’s cross into the penalty box.

Despite their efforts, Samoa couldn’t break down New Zealand’s strong defense, especially with Captain Pharrell Trainor being kept quiet.

New Zealand finished strong, securing a fifth goal through an unfortunate own goal. This result ensures that New Zealand is the first team from group B to secure a spot in the semi-finals, while Samoa will have to win their final match against New Caledonia to advance.
