Brimmer, a standout player known for his superb passing range and goal-scoring ability, was the youngest Australian to win the award since 1995.

Brimmer featured in 24 of Melbourne Victory’s 26 games last season and finished as the club’s joint top goal scorer for the 2020-21 season.

He attributes his early years playing at Nunawading City FC to the competitive nature of football and the importance of playing for the team.

Auckland FC represents an exciting new challenge for Brimmer, who is familiar with many team members and is impressed by the squad’s strength.

The club has shown significant progress under the leadership of Steve Corica, CEO Nick Becker, director of Football Terry McFlynn, and head of player recruitment Doug Kors. Brimmer is eager for the upcoming season and is prepared to put in the hard work.

Brimmer’s signing further strengthens the Auckland FC squad, which already boasts attacking talent such as back-to-back champion Dan Hall, New Zealand international Callan Elliot, Joey Champness, and three-time A-League title winner Scott Galloway.
