Scott Robertson, the All Blacks coach, is excited about the upcoming tour of South Africa, particularly the Johannesburg-Cape Town match.

He believes the tour brings an old-school feeling to the experience, allowing him to reflect on his team’s performance last week.

The All Blacks’ next test is a rematch with the Springboks at Ellis Park on September 1. Robertson remembers his 2017 Super Rugby title win over the Lions.

The Springboks are unfamiliar with the South African game and its players, having been removed from Super Rugby for five seasons.

12 of the current All Black squad’s careers began after the pandemic-enforced divorce, adding to the excitement.

The Springboks have been innovative and evolved over the last few games, making it an excellent opportunity for test match rugby.

The All Blacks last played at Ellis Park during Ian Foster’s most dramatic and emotional period as coach.

They responded with a 35-23 win, setting off a chain of events that led to Foster keeping his job through to the World Cup.

Robertson acknowledges that senior players will guide inexperienced players, but the involvement of some is touch and go.

The Springboks have won both Rugby Championship fixtures against the Wallabies. All Blacks need to get results on this trip to retain the title.

The All Blacks have won the annual tournament for the last four seasons. Their success depends on their performance on this trip.
