Updated: 5:20pm – The Fiji Airways Men’s National 7s team has made history after winning the Hong Kong 7s title four years in row as they beat Kenya 24-12 in the final.
Playmaker Amenoni Nasilasila received the Player of the Final award as he scores a try and set up another for Vatemo Ravouvou.
Fiji was clinical and discipline in the final with their defence and controlled the game right from the start.
The national side scored three tries in the first half from Josua Vakurinabili, Eroni Sau and Nasilasila and led 17-0 at halftime.
Vatemo Ravouvou had the final say in the second half before Kenya scored their second try.
Captain Jerry Tuwai says acknowledged his players for working hard throughout the tournament.
Winger Eroni Sau also won the DHL Impact Player of the Tournament Award.
Fiji is sitting at second place in the World Sevens Series points table with 123 points while South Africa is still leading with 126 points.
Looking at the other matches, South Africa won the Bronze Medal final as they beat New Zealand 29-7, Argentina beat USA 14-12 to win the fifth-place play-off, France beat Canada 33-7 to win the Challenge Trophy Final while Wales thrashed Samoa 33-5 to win the 13th place play-off.
