18 new cases recorded on saturday afternoon in Fiji

The Ministry of Health recorded 18 new cases yesterday evening since their past update on Saturday evening.

In a proclamation, the Health Ministry says these 10 cases were from two related families in Waila, four cases were from a family in Tacirua, and two cases from a family in Muanikoso.

Lasting Secretary for Health, Doctor James Fong says they are right off the bat in the examinations concerning these new cases and at present, no connection has been set up with different cases.

Specialist Fong says of the excess two cases, one is a contact of the Samabula bunch, and the second is an Extra Supermarket laborer who tried positive on their last swab in isolate.

Notwithstanding an extended Muanikoso screening zone, the Ministry of Health has set up screening zones in Samabula, Waila, and Tacirua, where they are presently directing serious screening and testing.

The Permanent Secretary for Health says these most recent cases include various individuals who visited notable shops, supermarkets, and other business offices around there, which will make contact following and information they acquire from the careFIJI application vital.

Fijians are again being asked to have the application introduced and running on their telephones, with Bluetooth turned on.

Fiji has had 230 cases altogether, with 134 recuperations and four passings, since our first case was accounted for on March 19 2020.
