27 Fijians from Levuka receives Independence Commemorative Medals.

27 Fijians from Levuka were presented with the 50th Anniversary of Independence Commemorative Medals.

This was done at a Special Investiture function at the Lomaiviti Provincial Council office.

The unique induction service was gone to by the Commander of the Republic of the Fiji Military Forces Rear-Admiral Viliame Naupoto, Acting Police Commissioner Rusiate Tudravu and Commissioner Eastern Vitale Varo.

President Jioji Konrote complimented the awardees and expressed gratitude toward them for their commitment towards country building and for their foreknowledge in building up the old capital.

Closing his one-day visit, President Konrote likewise introduced dedicatory Fiji50 50 penny coins to directors and headteachers in schools in Levuka.
