UPDATED: 7:18am – A twenty-seven-year-old man of Malamala settlement in Yako Nadi has died following a road accident early morning yesterday .
The incident happened at 6.20am at Queens Rd in Nawaicoba, Nadi.
It is alleged the deceased was drunk and drove the car without the owner’s consent and without any driving licence.
The driver of the car was heading towards Nadi from Malomalo with a twenty-year-old man when he allegedly lost control of the vehicle.
The vehicle collided head on with a minibus driven by a fourty-one-year-old man of Nabua, Suva who was heading to Suva with six passengers.
Four passengers of the minibus are admitted at the Lautoka Trauma ward while the driver of the minibus is admitted at the Nadi hospital.
The twenty-year-old passenger of the car is admitted in critical condition at Lautoka Hospital’s ICU Unit.
Investigations continue.
