Updated: 7:27pm – The family of 58-year-old Apenisa Tome continue to hope that their father is safe after he failed to return home from a fishing trip last month.
Police say Tome was last seen on the 7th of June leaving Naigani village on a kayak to fish off the waters around the island.

They say when he failed to return, the village headman raised the alarm where a joint search consisting of police officers from the Korovou Police Station and villagers was conducted but had turned out negative.
While the search was eventually called off, the family is requesting anyone with information that could assist in locating their father to call Crime Stoppers on 919.
