The suspects are accused in more than 50 cases involving more than 6 million yuan (892,000 U.S. dollars).

Chinese media and Radio NZ say pictures show the suspects were hooded and herded onto a chartered flight amid high security last night. It is not clear if there was any formal extradition process.

Xinhua claims the suspects are involved in more than 50 cases involving close to US$900,000 that targetted victims in mainland China.

It says Chinese police sent a team to Fiji on the 2nd of July, and the suspects were arrested on the 18th in raids that destroyed five dens and saw mobile phones, computers, bank cards and other equipment confiscated.
