Updated: 6:05am – Fiji Airways National 7’s coach Gareth Baber is working tirelessly to get his team combination right so they can set a scintillating score difference in the opening round of the 2017/18 World 7’s Series which kicks off in Dubai this weekend.
Having fallen-short to South Africa 24-16 in the Dubai 7’s cup final last year, the side will aim to avenge that loss.
Coach Gareth Baber says the Dubai and South Africa 7’s tournaments will be tough as all teams are aiming to start the series with a win.
“Obviously the first day in Dubai in our first game is always a tough one. Russia have been preparing. Playing in the European tournament and I know what they will bring and we need to stick to what we need to do.”
Fiji kicks off the Dubai 7’s campaign against Russia on Friday at 7.06pm; they then play Wales at 10.06pm and face Australia on Saturday at 4.06am.
The final will be played on Sunday at 4.33am.
