Updated: 9:16am – The Tavua football side has roped in the expertise of Anand Sami as they begin preparation for the Courts Inter District Championship.
Sami, who is a former national and Labasa football midfielder, will go through his first training run with the side today.
Sami says, he is expecting to help Tavua fight the giants of the Premier Division during the championship in Lautoka.
“Everybody wants to go and help the strong teams but there is very less people who go out and help the team who really need to lift the standard. It’s like a good challenge to me to shape up the team which they really need. We will start to training and learn how to tackle the top teams like Ba, Lautoka and all the Premier teams.”
Tavua is grouped with Lautoka, Suva and Nadi in Pool A while Pool B consists of Labasa, Ba, Rewa and Dreketi.
The IDC will be played from the 10th to the 15th of October at Churchill Park in Lautoka.
