Update: 7:35 pm – Their relationship is still a mystery as both of them never accepted their relationship in public. It all started on the sets of ‘Do Anjane’ (1976) when Amitabh was already married to Jaya.
And soon gossip mills started churning out stories about the duo’s affair. The speculations got more limelight when in Neetu-Rishi Kapoor’s wedding, Rekha appeared wearing sindhur and mangalsutra.
She went ahead to meet Amitabh and started formally talking to her. After the incident, Jaya invited Rekha for dinner and told her candidly that whatever may happen she will never leave her husband.
Though Rekha always publicly admitted her love for him, Mr Bachchan never did so. Silsila was the couple’s last film together. The film portrayed Jaya as Amitabh’s wife and Rekha as his girlfriend.
