Meanwhile, the post mortem examination of the five victims found dead in the Nausori Highlands in Nadi will be conducted tomorrow.

Police Spokesperson Ana Naisoro says investigators are trying to gather more information to establish how the victim’s car was found abandoned in Votualevu and are following some leads.

The bodies of a 63-year-old carpenter, Nirmal Kumar, his 54-year-old wife Usha Devi, their 34-year-old daughter, Nileshni Kajal and her two daughters aged 11 and 8 were discovered yesterday morning.

An eyewitness was drawn to the gruesome find after hearing the cries of a one-year-old baby, a relative of the victims – found crawling next to the bodies of the deceased.

Naisoro says the one-year-old remains admitted at the Lautoka Hospital.

Late this afternoon, police spokesperson Ana Naisoro stated that the reports of an arrest are untrue and investigators are still gathering information.

She adds investigators are continuing with the process of interviewing people who may have information regarding the incident.
