Senior Labour politician and former Senator Sachida Nand Sharma have been elected acting president of the Fiji Labour Party.
He succeeds the late Lavinia Padarath.

Sharma also holds the post of acting national Treasurer, while substantive appointments will be made at FLP’s Annual Delegates Conference in November.
Party leader, Mahendra Chaudhry says Sharma brings a wealth of political experience to the post.
