Minister for Women Mereseini Vuniwaqa is urging women to speak out and report violence against women.
While officiating at the Serua/Namosi Women Craft Show and International Women’s Day celebration, Vuniwaqa says silence will keep the domestic violence statistics rising which will not help the government.

Vuniwaqa says the government has taken the fisrt step by launching the toll free helpline 1560 and it’s the women’s responsibility to call and report domestic violence
The Fiji Arts Council have also chosen 40 women during the craft show yesterday to progressively participate in the National Women’s Expo.
The 2017 National Women’s Expo will take place from the 14th to 16th of June this year
