Updated: 11:30am – While opening the Naseyani Primary School Dining Hall in Ra today, Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama said that as we soon enter into an election season, the communities will be filled with candidates hoping to win people’s favour over kava while making all sorts of claims and guarantees.

Bainimarama advised the people in Naseyani that they have to pay attention to those who can give them inclusive development.

He said that his advice to the community is to pay attention to those who genuinely care for them and those who can focus on a positive future for you and our country.

Bainimarama says the record of achievement Fiji has accomplished under his leadership stands on its own.

He says as we enter into our ninth straight year of economic growth, the signs of that growth are all around us.

Bainimarama promised the people that by continuing under his leadership, the best days for Fiji are yet to come.

He told the people of Naseyani that less than a year ago today, he sat in the very village, speaking face‑to‑face with many of the same faces which he had the pleasure of seeing this afternoon.

The Prime Minister says when he went there last July, his purpose was to commission the Naseyani Primary School, which was rebuilt under the Government’s school rehabilitation programme.

Bainimarama says thanks to the Government’s innovative Small Grant Scheme, they were able to deliver on this promise, ahead of its scheduled completion, at a benefit of over 224 thousand dollars to Naseyani village.

He says this is about the students’ future and this is why he is so passionate about making long‑term investments in Fiji’s future generations, whether it’s fighting to combat climate change on the global stage or providing free education to all Fijian students for the first time in our history.
