The victim who was critically injured is now in a stable condition in Middlemore Hospital. Police have been working to establish the circumstances around what happened.
A 37-year-old man appeared in the Manukau District Court on Monday. Police charged him with wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and unlawful possession of a firearm.
