Ships Can Use Vunisea Jetty

Updated: 7:52am – Ships can now use the Vunisea Jetty after the Fiji Roads Authority (FRA) repaired the washed out approach.

National Disaster Management Office director Anare Leweniqila said from the latest assessment received yesterday it should be ready for use by yesterday.

The assessment team, made up of the Minister for Fisheries Semi Koroilavesau, Assistant Minister for Rural & National Disaster Management Joeli Cawaki, Commissioner Eastern Luke Moroivalu and Major Lepani Damuni, visited the jetty yesterday.

Mr Leweniqila said from their briefing they were told the jetty would be ready by yesterday.

The approach to Vunisea Jetty was washed out during Tropical Cyclone Keni.
