The new operating hours for municipal markets around Viti Levu

The Ministry of Local Government has chosen to present the new working hours for city markets around Viti Levu following the declaration of the new 6pm to 4am time limitation. The Suva Main Market, Bailey Bridge, Raiwaqa, Nabua, Flagstaff, Lami and Navua markets will work every day from 8am to 4pm from Mondays to Saturdays. For individuals dwelling in Nausori, the new working hours of the market will be from 7am to 4pm from Mondays to Fridays and 6am to 4pm on Saturdays and on Sundays.

Merchants might be permitted to sell outside the Nausori Market from 6am to 1pm.

The new opening times at the Korovou Market will be from 6am to 4pm from Mondays to Saturdays. For the Laqere, Makoi and Valelevu Markets, the new working hours are from 6am to 4pm from Mondays to Saturdays and every one of the three business sectors will work from 6am to 1pm on Sundays for outside selling. The Ba Market will open from 7am to 4pm from Mondays to Saturdays, while the Rakiraki and Tavua Markets will work from 8am to 4pm from Mondays to Thursdays and from 7am to 4pm on Fridays and Saturdays.

For market merchants in Lautoka, the Main Market will work from Mondays to Fridays from 7am to 4pm and from 6am to 4pm on Saturdays while the Lautoka Bus Station Market will work from 8am to 4pm from Mondays to Saturdays. The Lautoka New Wing business sector will work from 7am to 4pm from Mondays to Saturdays and for those living close to Tavakubu settlement, the market will open from Mondays to Saturdays from 7am to 5pm.

The Nadi Main Market will serve individuals from 6am to 4pm from Mondays to Saturdays and 7am to 2pm on Sundays while the Namaka Market will open from 7am to 4pm from Mondays to Saturdays and 7am to 2pm on Sundays. For individuals living in Sigatoka, the market will open its entryways from 8am to 4pm from Mondays to Saturdays.

Priest for Local Government Premila Kumar says the updated opening times for the Municipal Markets was mulled over to permit sellers and shoppers to arrive at home securely before 6pm.

She says they don’t need merchants and shoppers to disrupt any time limit guidelines and guidelines.

Kumar says they likewise don’t need customers to unite at these business sectors simultaneously as this won’t just aim issues for the city staff and different merchants and individuals from the general population.

The Minister adds her Ministry will continue updating and illuminating people in general if there will be further changes to the business sectors opening times according to declarations made by the Health Ministry pushing ahead.
