Wellington International Airport evacuated due to a fire this morning.

Staff and travelers at Wellington Airport are being permitted to reappear the terminal, which was emptied because of a fire toward the beginning of today.

A dodgy light fitting is associated to be the reason with the smoke prompting a clearing soon after 8.30am.

A Wellington Airport representative said the reason for the fire is presently being researched.

For most recent reports on flights, travelers are encouraged to check flight data on the web or address their aircraft.

Fire and Emergency move director Chris Dalton said they were alarmed soon after 8.30am.

He said five siphoning trucks, two stepping stool trucks and an order unit went to notwithstanding the three apparatuses based at the air terminal.

Dalton said the fire has now been smothered bu the terminal was still smoke logged.
