A 30-year-old man is in a serious condition after firing shots at police officers

Foxton Police said they got a report about 5.30pm yesterday about a driver and motioned for the man to stop, yet he didn’t.

In spite of the fact that a pursuit was not started, as police made requests, they said the driver at that point returned past one of their vehicles and discharged shots towards an official.

They said the driver at that point deserted his vehicle, constrained another driver from their vehicle, and took that vehicle.

The vehicle was headed to Feilding where spikes were utilized to stop it.

It was then crashed into a left squad car at speed, while one more shot was discharged at a cop.

The driver must be separated from the vehicle by Fire and Emergency after which he was taken to Palmerston North medical clinic in a genuine condition.

The 30-year-old is presently in care.

A gun was recuperated from the scene, police said.

Police said there was probably going to be various genuine accusations.

No officials or individuals from people in general were harmed.
