UPDATED: 7:28am – A psychiatric patient, who is alleged to have murdered a man in Nadi four years ago, will hear his verdict from the assessors in the next couple of hours in the Suva High Court.

Livai Lino is charged with the murder of Ashwin Lal in the early morning on June 21st, 2013 outside the Navakai Dealers Shop in Namotomoto, Nadi.

Judge Justice Salesi Temo will sum up the case following which the three assessors will give their guilty or not guilty verdict.

During the trial last week the court heard that Lino stabbed the victim on his right chest and the knife blade was found lodged in Lal’s chest.

The victim died from excessive blood loss. The case will be called at 9:30am today.
