General Machinery Lautoka heads to the second leg of the Pillay Garments Champion versus Champion with three points in the bag. This is after a ten-man Blues side edged Ba 1-0 in the first leg.
In a game where many opportunities were created at either end, Lautoka had more clear- cut chances but failed to find the net. Both teams headed for the break 0-0. Lautoka were dealt a blow when striker Samuela Drudru was given the red card by referee Veer Singh in the 75th minute.
The home team’s persistent attack finally paid off when they were awarded a penalty in the 82nd minute when hardworking Dave Ragrigai was fouled in the penalty box.
Lautoka’s regular penalty taker Zibraaz Sahib stepped up and he made no mistake from 12-yards beating goalkeeper Josaia Ratu.
Ba will now try to level terms and secure a 1-nil win or a clear 2-0 win to secure the CvC title. If Ba wins 1-0 on Sunday then a third leg will be played. The return leg will be played again at Churchill Park in Lautoka on Sunday at 3pm
