FIJI NEWS: Nandans’s legacy will live on: PM

Respecting the heritage of Fiji’s first negotiator to the United Nations Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama has sworn to keep the voices of the Pacific on the worldwide crusade to shield our seas.

Bainimarama says late Ambassador Satya Nandan through his work at UN cleared the way to the tact that left Fiji and the planet at a superior spot.

He includes as a result generally Ambassador Nandan, the voices of Fijians and Pacific Islanders are currently progressively ground-breaking.

“Making sure about Fiji’s status as an enormous sea state didn’t require a vanquishing naval force to hold onto new pieces of the ocean. All it required was an unwavering strategic exertion by representative Nandan to reinforce seas the board.”

Envoy Nandan in the mid-1970s when the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea was being arranged, battled for the foundation of the 200-mile Exclusive Economic Zone for the Pacific.

PM yesterday marked the sympathy book for the late Ambassador.

Nandan died in New York on the 25th of a month ago.
