National Federation Party President, Pio Tikoduadua says he has trained his legal counselors to make legitimate move against the Police after he was kept in care for 36 hours a month ago.

Tikoduadua says Police officials showed up at his home soon after 12 PM and disclosed to him that he was being confined for offering expressions causing open caution with respect to an episode where some cops supposedly attacked a man in Naqia Village and lost him an extension.

He says he was fit to be addressed from 9am on the 21st of April however his meeting was more than once postponed and he was then kept in authority for one more night.

Tikoduadua says Police should realize that as a Member of Parliament he was not going to escape them and there was no explanation behind the Police to keep him in the night.

The NFP President adds that if Police wished to address him, they could have handily done that during the day and they didn’t need to bolt him up.

Tikoduadua says rather this is the thing that the police have done to many individuals through the time of the Coronavirus limitations including another Opposition MP who was confined for a more extended period before being charged.

He says this is basically the Police practicing their own type of discipline which isn’t their activity.

Tikoduadua says Police must allow the courts to choose if those individuals are blameworthy and in the event that they are liable the courts must choose the discipline.

We have sent inquiries to Police and are anticipating a reaction.
