“TC Ella as of 3am this morning it was located about 290km east northeast of Cikobia. TC Ella is gradually moving westwards and we expect TC Ella just to track just to the north of Fiji so on this track we expect TC Ella to start weakening as well and possibly while it comes to the north of Vanualevu, it will be a category one system so yes there’s still a danger of gale force winds affecting mainly Cikobia but the risk of it impacting Vanualevu at the moment is, directly is minimal.”

A tropical cyclone warning nonetheless remains in force for the country with a gale warning in force for Vanualevu, Taveuni and nearby smaller islands.

A strong wind warning remains in force for Lau and Lomaiviti group and the eastern part of Viti Levu.

We’ll bring you more on TC Ella as information comes to hand.
